Bio
Titus Telge is a Los Angeles–based Narrative Director and Theatrical Entrepreneur dedicated to dynamic staging, inventive storytelling, and bridging the gap between bold artistic vision and commercial viability. Specializing in new work development, contemporary musicals, and reimagined classics, Titus works alongside writers, producers, and regional powerhouses to build high-impact, audience-driven theatrical experiences.
Most recently, Titus directed and co-produced the debut of The Man Who Ate Time at the historic Hudson Theatre mainstage in Hollywood. His background spans major regional and commercial operations across Southern California, which includes assisting the acclaimed Broadway director Glenn Casale on Disney's The Little Mermaid and The King and I, as well as assisting director Cynthia Ferrer on Legally Blonde at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.
On the commercial side of live entertainment, Titus brings sharp, strategic leadership to every production. He served as Producer’s Assistant for McCoy Rigby Entertainment’s revival of Fiddler on the Roof starring Tony Winner Jason Alexander, working directly under executive producers Tom McCoy and Cathy Rigby. Additionally, his management work on star-studded industry events like the Broadway Voices Unite benefit concert (hosted by Merle Dandridge and Seth Rudetsky) involved close collaboration with elite stage and screen talent, including Rachel Bloom, Sarah Silverman, Tracie Thoms, Troy Baker, and Lilias White.
Titus approaches every project as both a storyteller and an executive: committed to honoring the writer's text, leading collaborative creative teams, and developing sustainable, financially grounded models for live theatre.
My Creative Process
I always start with a question; a clear dilemma that the audience wrestles with throughout the show and takes home with them. I think a belief is only as strong as the opposition it's forced to overcome. Arguments should be staged so well that the audience has to choose a side.
This question drives the rehearsal process. I see myself as a story architect laying the foundation for the actors to build their characters around — prompting imagination rather than dictating action. I was directing the world premiere of The Man Who Ate Time and made an offhand joke about a tertiary character's backstory in rehearsal. That joke became the foundation of the actress's entire performance.
When tech week comes to test all of it, someone has to hold the room. Recently, I served as Assistant Director for a production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. The director was unable to work for the entirety of tech week, so I stepped in to lead the cast, designers, and crew through the process. Since I had taken the time in rehearsals to discuss the central question with the director and the performers, I was able to make appropriate judgement calls on the fly.
The question starts it. The question sustains it. The question is what they leave with. Everything in between is the work, and I love the work. I'm based in Los Angeles, but I go wherever the work is. If you've got something worth building, let's talk.
